We all learnt about him back in school. The fact that he believed in God didn’t stop him having a pantheistic worldview, contemplating the infinite nature of the universe and accepting Copernicus’ heliocentricism. He was burnt at the stake by the Inquisition for his outrageous and outlandish ideas.
