Theologian and prominent Dominican. He wasn’t so much famous for his theological ideas as for his book Anthill, or Formicarius, where, among other things, he condemns magic and the cult of Satan. Historically the fate of men, he illustrated women now fell into it as a result of their physical, mental and moral inferiority. He scoffed at the idea that witches’ could fly through the night to Sabbaths but firmly believed that they fry up and eat their own small children, as well as those of strangers, and make satanic potions with the leftovers.
