Justin the Philosopher

Justin the Philosopher
Birth 100
Death 165

Early Christian theologian and martyr. He just missed out on seeing the apostles in real life. He laid the foundations for a theological interpretation of history and saw Christianity as the continuation of the Ancient Greek philosophical tradition which paved the way for the New Testament. He was a real Christian, anyway – in his treatise ‘against heresy’ he attacked his predecessor in the faith, Marcion.
