Martin Heidegger

Martin Heidegger
Birth 1889
Death 1976

German philosopher and one of the most influential intellectuals of the 20th Century, particularly in the French school of human sciences. He thought that the most important philosophical question was that of Being, which hadn’t been raised since the time of the great Ancient Greek thinkers and demanded fresh attention. Being and time are one and the same. Realising our own mortality helps us understand the essence and meaning of our existence and gives it authenticity.
