Pope from 579 to 590 and prominent secular politician, who died of the plague like a mere mortal. There is deep controversy about his theological outlook; some people say that Pelagius wasn’t against priests marrying as long as they’re offspring weren’t allowed to inherit Church property, whilst others say he was a passionate believer in the strictest kind of celibacy known to man.
