Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Birth 1881
Death 1955

French philosopher of religion, who made a significant contribution to palaeontology and anthropology. He was a pantheist, who saw atoms and molecules as spiritual. He was a Christian evolutionist, believing that besides Darwinian evolution there was also moral evolution whose goal and direction came from Christ. In the end, the consciousness would find its fulfilment in Christ and finally break free from the material world. It would be on an eternal high.
